Velveeta Shortage…Noooooo!!!!

It's that special time of year, mac n' cheese shortage.

Yes it's that time of year when the already broke are even more in debt after the holiday season. I feel your pain, in addition to the holidays, our kiddo has a January birthday. We can't even afford Velveeta, been buying the old school generic stuff that comes with powder and requires the addition of margarine and milk.

But, with the threat of a Velveeta shortage, I will certainly be hitting the grocery store to stock up after work. That's a staple man, Velveeta shells and chili, it's the best meal in the world.

A report in Ad Age claims Kraft is staring down the barrel of a potential Velveeta shortage. A Kraft spokeswoman said this:

Given the incredible popularity of Velveeta this time of year, it is possible consumers may not be able to find their favorite product on store shelves over the next couple of weeks. Our retail customers are aware of the situation and we expect it to be a short-term issue."

 

Kraft is saying the potential shortage is due to "high demand", which is their way of saying "it's your fault America, stop being so poor."

We can only try, in the mean time, I'm stocking up!
