Missoula School District One will commemorate Veterans day on Tuesday with a special moment of silence with all schools participating.

Superintendent Alex Apostle said the event will take place early on Veterans Day.

"One of the things we're all doing tomorrow in all schools is recognizing a moment of silence for out veterans and for those who are involved in our armed services," Apostle said. "It's a very important day and we want to make sure that out students understand its importance and of course our staff is doing everything they can to support Veterans Day."

The moment of silence will take place in each classroom at the beginning of the day on Veterans Day. In addition, there will be a small ceremony at the flagpole at C.S. Porter Middle School at 8:35 a.m. that will include students and staff members.
