It's been another banner year for women in rock and metal, as longtime favorites and newcomers made their mark over the past 12 months. As a result, there's some tough competition in the Rock Goddess of the Year category in the 6th annual Loudwire Music Awards.

While we didn't get a new Evanescence album this year, Amy Lee and company returned to the road with select dates in the spring and a full U.S. tour in the fall. The band also delivered a comprehensive box set, while Lee released a children's album, Dream Too Much, via Amazon Music.

Elsewhere, Halestorm continued to tour relentlessly behind their 2015 album, Into the Wild Life, with frontwoman Lzzy Hale also making memorable guest appearances throughout the past year. And Cristina Scabbia continued to shine as her band Lacuna Coil released a new album called Delirium, while former Flyleaf singer Lacey Sturm returned to the scene with her solo disc, Life Screams.

Meanwhile, Taylor Momsen and her band the Pretty Reckless continued their record-breaking chart streak with their hit "Take Me Down" off their new album, Who You Selling For. And bassist Emma Anzai and her band Sick Puppies returned with a new-look lineup and a new disc, Fury.

This year also saw the release of new albums from Babymetal, featuring lead singer Su-Metal; Purson, led by vocalist Rosalie Cunningham; and Stitched Up Heart, fronted by singer Mixi. And let's not forget Simone Simons and Epica, who released their seventh album, The Holographic Principle, in September.

So, who will be crowned Rock Goddess of the Year in the 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards? Vote as much as once per hour for your favorite nominee in the poll below through the deadline of Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 10AM ET.
