What once was 'Bike, Walk, Bus week in Missoula has now become 'Walk and Roll Missoula', but the point is the same, to get people out of their cars and walking, biking or busing around town.

One of the headline features of 'Walk and Roll Week', is what is called the 'Walking School Bus', where various community celebrities will be leading school children on an organized walk to their respective neighborhood schools.

Senior Community Health Specialist with the Missoula City County Health Department Lisa Dworak describes the event.

"On Wednesday, the Missoula City County Health Department, in partnership with the City of Missoula and Missoula County Public Schools is encouraging five of our elementary schools, Hawthorne, Franklin, Russell, Lowell and Chief Charlo to walk or bike to school," Dworak said. "Mayor Engen is going to be at Lowell School walking with the kids. We have Griz athletes walking with kids at Russell and at Franklin, and we'll have several local mascots from Parks and Rec and some vegetables from Missoula Fresh Co-op that will also be welcoming the kids."

The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. and details on each Walking School Bus Route are available here at Missoula in Motion.com
