Just in case you needed another reason not to live in Florida, here it is: sinkholes!

On Friday, a massive sinkhole measuring over 225 feet wide and 50 feet deep opened up in the town of Land O' Lakes, Florida.  Unfortunately, two homes were swallowed when this occurred and surrounding homes could be in danger of suffering the same fate.  Luckily, no one was injured during the whole ordeal.  Authorities said that this was the largest sinkhole in the county in three decades.

While only two homes were swallowed by the sinkhole, a third lost part of its driveway and septic tank.  Eleven homes total were affected, with homeowners eventually being allowed to return to nine of them.  About 100 homes were affected when power had to be cut for a brief period of time.
