If one were to make the argument that Jimmy Fallon is currently the best late night TV host, one would certainly bring up his amazing impressions, musical or otherwise.

Fallon’s skills at impersonation have always been a big part of his appeal. In fact, when a young Fallon auditioned for ‘Saturday Night Live’ his material was basically a parade of celebrity impression.

Or should we say a walkathon.  And one including the voices of everybody from John Travolta to Jerry Seinfeld to Bill Cosby to Chris Rock to Gilbert Gottfried.

The biggest laugh Fallon got during the opening walkathon bit was his send up of baby-voiced ‘SNL’ alum Adam Sandler. Later in audition, which snagged him a spot on the show, Fallon takes out his guitar and spoofs ’90s musical acts like The Counting Crows, The Wallflowers and Alanis Morissette.

As you can see in the audition video, Fallon’s celebrity voices weren’t always necessarily spot on when he was in his early ’20s. (His Seinfeld and his Cosby have both gotten better over the years.) But his timing is pretty impeccable. And, when it comes to comedy, timing is just about everything.
