It's already fair time again in Missoula, which is awesome, but also sad, because it marks the dreaded "BTS" time for the kids (Back To School.)

This year's Western Montana Fair will see a few small changes but mostly be the excellent family fun you look forward to each year. One change is that it will not be open on Tuesday afternoon. To ensure the absolute safety in assembly of the rides, the carnival will not be open until Wednesday this year.

As always, you can look forward to local hometown memories with the 4-H auction and exhibits. And local charities that will benefit from legendary food vendors including the Missoula Indian Center Indian Tacos, Rocky Mountainaires Barbershop Chorus tater pigs (if you want them to sing, simply ask "what is a tater pig?") and the outstanding Sons of Norway vikings. And although there are no horse races, the beer garden will be open and ready to donate proceeds back to the community.

If you plan to hit the carnival, we highly recommend picking up the "pay one price" coupons in advance at Noon's stores. That way, you can get an all day ride stamp for only $20. Other attractions this year include the Demo Derby on Sunday, rodeos, free stage and the Dock Dogs competition.
