This time of year serves as an early reminder of the impending dangers men and women on forest fire lines may be facing.

Local supporters of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation are holding their annual "Putt and Pull" fundraiser, a trap shoot tournament and golf scramble, on Saturday, April 29.

This is one of the largest yearly fundraisers held in Montana for the Wildland Firefighters Foundation, providing additional financial support to injured or killed firefighters and their families. Last year's event brought in $15,000, and we'd love to see that figure rise dramatically!

The "Putt and Pull starts at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Missoula Trap and Skeet Club, followed by a 9-hole golf scramble at Frenchtown's King Ranch Golf Course, starting at 1:00 p.m. Festivities conclude at Highlander-Missoula Brewing Company with live and silent auctions and raffles.

If you can be part of all or any of these events, please contact Chris Johnson at 406-529-7751. Or check out their Putt and Pull website here.

Here's to a great fundraiser for some pretty special people.
