I didn’t think I would live to see the apocalypse, but it is here. I guess the world was bound to end sometime. Did we really think it could last forever? Things were too good to be true.

How do I know the world is coming to an end? Well, our friends at Nabisco have taken America’s favorite cookie and destroyed it. They have taken our delicious chocolate cookie with vanilla cream filling, and traded it for a vanilla cookie with watermelon filling.

This cookie may be satisfactory for ants, because everyone knows that ants love picnic food, and a major staple for picnics is watermelon. However, I am not an ant, and the last thing I want is someone destroying the chocolate cookie that I hold sacred.

How could they do this to the children of America? Or the adults? We have all grown up with this cookie. How else would it have earned the title of America’s favorite cookie?

I feel betrayed by Nabisco, and even a little hurt. I don’t know if I will ever be able to recover from this slap in the face. The only things that console me are that there is only a limited supply and they are only sold at one retailer.

This means that watermelon Oreos will never take over the world and replace our classic Oreos. Thank goodness.
