A $10,000 arrest warrant was issued for Viola Renee Prazma, 51, for parenting interference for taking her child and not notifying the father, Stanley Prazma, who has a fatal disease, of their whereabouts.

According to court documents, Viola and Stanley Prazma had a child in 2008 after their divorce. They maintained an informal parenting plan until the spring of 2012. However, Stanley Prazma was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in March of 2012, and was given two to five years to live. At that point, Viola then told Mr. Prazma she was taking the child on a two-week vacation. She never returned. At one point, she told Mr. Prazma he would never see his daughter again, and that she would never remember her father.

Mr. Prazma arranged for another parenting plan, even though the whereabouts of the mother and child were unknown. Viola Prazma was arrested and returned to Missoula on October 11.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Suzy Boylen asked acting Justice of the Peace Mike Frellick to continue Viola Prazma’s bond at $10,000.

“Due to the complaint, in that the defendant had to be extradited back to Missoula, I don’t think she has a lot of ties to the community,” Boylen said. “I certainly have some concerns that she might want to try this again.I also ask that she be prohibited from having any contact with the child, Stanley Prazma and his present wife.”

Viola Prazma remains in the Missoula County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Parenting interference is a felony that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and up to a $50,000 fine.
