I don't know this Gillian person, in fact, I couldn't even figure out where she is based, but she is spot on with her blog titled "12 Things to Stop Saying to People in Radio."

Especially #4, the person who assumes you have endless amounts of tickets for every show, #6 the person who thinks they have great ideas and #9, the person who thinks you are offended if they admit they don't listen to your station.

One more I would add is "What do you do with the rest of your day?" or "It must be nice to only work 4 hours a day." With blogging, social media, concert planning, contest planning, events, scheduling music, producing commercials and more, most full time radio DJs work more than 40 hours in a typical week.

My all time favorite? "Can you get me tickets for (name of band)? They are my FAVORITE but the show is sold out." They are NOT your favorite, if they were, you would have had tickets during the pre-sale. To which you get "But I didn't know they were on sale." If you are not following your so-called favorite band to the point that you don't know when tickets go on sale, they, again, are NOT your favorite band.

OK, enough ranting, here's the full list of 12 Things to Stop Saying to People in Radio.
