121st Annual Esyapqeyni Arlee Powwow Celebration
FREE admission, open to the public! Thought I'd get those 2 facts out of the way since many times, people who have never been ask if they are "allowed" to go. Everyone is welcome, come on out!
The Confederated Salish & Kootenai tribes host the 121st Annual Arlee Celebration through this Sunday, July 7th. Please join us for traditional dance competitions, singing and drumming. There are also many vendors with hand made beaded crafts and food booths, which include a variety of Indian Tacos for sale.
The powwow grounds are located just east of Arlee, Montana. Arlee is about 20 miles north of Missoula on Highway 93. Signs from the road will help guide you in. Please remember, no drugs, alcohol, fireworks or firearms are allowed. And again, admission is free.
It's a family tradition for us, but if you've never been, I highly recommend this cultural experience, it's absolutely beautiful and loaded with Montana history. Weather is cooler than it usually is during this week, with highs only in the 70's, but you should still bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
