If you’re planning on visiting one of Missoula’s best attractions in the next few days, you might want to change your plans. A Carousel for Missoula will be closed Jan. 7 through Jan. 18 for a little repair and maintenance. The good news is that once they’re finished, you will be able to enjoy the spruced up and polished ponies again.

Here is the maintenance schedule for the Carousel:

Jan. 7 – The ponies got a much deserved bath.

Jan. 8 and Jan. 9 – Painters have been sprucing up the ponies doing any necessary touch-ups.

Jan. 9 – Mechanics will be working their magic on the machine at night.

Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 – The skilled, Nate Cross of Cross Flooring, will be refinishing the platform.

Jan. 12 and Jan. 13 – The whole place is taking a rest. Nothing will be going on.

Jan. 15 – The mechanics will be working their magic on the machine again.

Jan. 16 – Those busy little painters will be adding a little sparkle to the ponies with some varnish.

Jan. 17 – The Boys of Wednesday (a group of retired guys who love the outdoors) and their wives will be busy loving the carousel by helping clean the building.

Jan. 18 – The last of the cleaning will be done.

Jan 19 – Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the spruced up Carousel! Don’t miss it!
