A Montana Grizzly Football Stampede Corrals Mustangs
How do you score much when you only have the ball for nine and a half of the first 30 minutes of the game? Just average about 3 and-a-half points a minute.
The Montana Grizzlies found numerous ways to put a stop to the Cal Poly attack, including recovering a muffed punt at the 6 yard line and grabbing a mid-air fumble for an 80-yard defensive touchdown. The Griz took a 31-7 halftime lead and did what they needed to do to withstand any comeback attempts, and leave California with a 48-28 Big Sky Conference victory.
Grizzly quarterback Dalton Sneed threw three touchdown passes, including two to Montana freshmen Gabe Sulser of Billings and Matt Rensvold of Polson. Freshman running back Adam Eastwood added two big touchdown runs. On the defensive side, linebacker Dante Olsen had 24 tackles, making him Number One in the nation on the season with 79. Montana improves to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in Big Sky Conference play. And it's on to HOMECOMING, Griz Nation. Portland State comes to down next Saturday, October 6. Scott Gurnsey and I will be on the air at noon with the Statewide Tailgate Show on KGVO in Missoula and KLYQ in Hamilton. We will be live at the Grizzly Scholarship Association tailgate area on Campus Drive across from the Adams Center Rec Annex. You're invited to stop by out stage and listen on the PA system to get fired up for Griz football!
