If you’ve ever driven by Brooks Avenue near Hellgate High School, you know the spot. It’s been there forever, over 30 years. It’s where many of us got our first tattoos, or at least stood in the lobby questioning if we were brave enough. The shop, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, is finally calling it a day and moving out.

The New Location (And Yes, There Is Parking)

The new digs? The original Mountain Broadcasting building at 714 Kensington, down behind Baskin-Robbins. That new space is looking to be open for business starting August 15th, says owner Detail Dave. Schedule your appointment now.

Here’s what’s changing:

  • The artists' studios will be upgraded, with a 6th studio added.
  • Piercing will get a bump as well, with single‑bay rooms
  • And the big one? Parking. If you’ve ever been late to your tattoo appointment and circled the Brooks lot like a vulture on the lookout for a space, this will be like winning the lottery.

They’re just swapping out traffic headaches for something better. And now you can find them just up Kensington, whether you’re a longtime Detail Dave client or finally thinking about your first piece.
