Not a lot to report on rock bands today, they must be behaving themselves for the holidays.  Everybody's gearing up for New Year's Eve...here's how the 1% party.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are picking up a big paycheck for playing a private New Year's Eve party thrown by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. The price tag for the event, being held for 300 guests in the Caribbean island of St. Barts, is close to $8 million. The UK paper Daily Telegraph says the band will be getting a huge fee playing the party where guests have been told to wear "island chic."

And speaking of the ridiculously rich…ever wonder how they ring in the New Year? They most likely stay at a super swanky hotel with a price tag that most of us couldn't even fathom. The folks at Kayak.com put together a list of the world's most expensive New Year's Eve Hotel Suites.

  • The Bridge Suite, Atlantis, Bahamas -- $25,000/night
  • The Penthouse Suite, Regent Beverly Wilshire, L.A. -- $25,000/night
  • The Ty Warner Suite, Four Seasons, NYC -- $35,000/night
  • The Hugh Hefner Sky Villa, The Palms, Las Vegas -- $40,000/night

Random note, but sticking with the rich dudes theme, Michael Jordan is getting married.  He proposed to his girlfriend of 3 years over the Christmas weekend.  Definitely think a pre-nup is the way to go here Mr. Jordan.
