Have you ever heard of candied bacon? It is basically the human equivalent of a dog treat. You can pretty much convince a person to do just about any stupid pet trick you want. As long as you promise a strip of candied bacon. That was my first experience with Burns Street Bistro, and I have been hooked ever since.

I can remember the first time I stumbled across Burns Street Bistro. It was right around the time they first emerged onto the scene in Missoula. They had a small trailer featured at "Out to Lunch" at Caras Park. I was offered a strip of candied bacon. All it took was one bite, and I have been a fan of just about everything BSB put out ever since.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Burns Street Bistro has announced that they will be closing their doors very soon.

According to an announcement on their social media page, BSB will be closing its doors on October 1st.

From pig brain fritters to Dirt Bag Dinner to serving 1.7 million pounds of veggie browns to the Great Pretzel Bun Affair of 2012, we've seen a lot of changes in Missoula and the Missoula culinary landscape (street tacos!), and we are happy to have shared many a meal and questionable idea with our community.
We want to especially thank all of our current and former staff for making the legend of BSB what it is today, for working in a warehouse that pretends at being a kitchen, for routinely cleaning the sex toys off of our patio, for creating an inclusive, fun, and inviting space for all to enjoy. You will be missed.
It appears that BSB will continue to operate its catering truck into 2024. But, the location on 1500 Burns Street will be no more after October 1st. Until then, they will be open Thursday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We raise our glass to another of our Missoula favorites. Thanks for all the years of goofy lunch specials and delicious food.
