Could it really be true? Could the ‘90s be coming back? According to a few celebrities it is. It seems that the staple footwear from the glorious grunge days is back. Timberland boots are back and tromping up and down Hollywood Boulevard.

If these construction worker clod hoppers can make a comeback, then I have hope that someday soon overalls, large plaid shirts and inside out sweatshirts will find their way back too. I’m not sure how this genre of clothing will do without Kurt Cobain though.

To really bring back the grunge style, you need raw dirty grungy music to bring it to life. I’m having a hard time envisioning Lady Gaga or Miley Cyrus slithering across the stage at a concert in overalls and Timberlands. This could be because you rarely see them with anything on period.

I’m not totally against Timberlands making a comeback. However, I was never really fond of them the first time around. This may come as a shock to you, but I am not exactly what you might call a fashionista. I am a mother of four. I think it’s safe to say that I won’t be climbing out of my minivan to pick up my kids from football practice sporting a pair of Timberlands and overalls anytime soon, or ever.

I think the grunge style was great for helping hide the freshman 15 and for those who didn’t think it was necessary to shower regularly. Usually if you were rocking the grunge look, you were also rocking the greasy hair and a scraggly beard.

Celebrities have started to bring back the ‘90s with the ever popular Timberlands, but I dare them to bring the ‘90s back the rest of the way, grunge and all.
