We are quickly approaching the intersection of basketball and football for the University of Montana Grizzlies.

That overlap begins in earnest in November, but this week is an opportunity for you Griz fans to get a free preview of both the men's and women's basketball teams during the annual Maroon and Silver scrimmages. Those take place tomorrow (Wednesday, October 27).

The Lady Griz will scrimmage first, starting at 5:00 p.m., with the Griz scrimmage set to start at around 6:30 p.m. Both teams have a lot of new faces, and it should be interesting to see what new players might get you excited about the upcoming seasons.

Speaking of those seasons, they officially get underway on November 9 during a rare Griz/Lady Griz doubleheader. The Lady Griz host Northwest Nazarene at 5:00 p.m. and the Griz will follow against Dickinson State at 7:30 p.m. Prior to that, the Lady Griz will actually host an exhibition contest vs. Rocky Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5.

The scrimmages kick off what should be an entertaining week of Grizzly sports. The Griz football team is back home to host Southern Utah at noon. It's the annual Military Appreciation Game and the Griz for Kids Toy Drive. Please bring new, unwrapped toys with you to the stadium. Convenient drop-off tables will be at each entry gate. Cash donations gratefully accepted as well, as we team up to try to make it a merrier Christmas for local children in need.

And Grizzly volleyball fans, remember to cheer on your team, too, when the Griz host Northern Colorado, 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the Adams Center.

Ticket information for these events and more is right here.  And Go Griz!
