Beastie Boys fans in Adam Yauch's hometown of Brooklyn, New York are hoping to re-name a park after the late rapper. They had their sights set on Squibb Park, which is being renovated to become a skateboarding venue and gateway to Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Facebook group is now pushing to have State Park in Brooklyn renamed with Squibb staying the same. The trio has strong ties to skateboarding, with three different manufacturers making Beastie Boy-themed decks over the years.

A Facebook page has been set up for fans to support the effort.

Staind frontman Aaron Lewis is co-producing a documentary called Shame on America, about veterans returning to the U.S. Lewis and director Fran Strine have started a Kickstarter campaign to help finance the film, which focuses on how many Iraq and Afghanistan vets suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and how their lives are affected. Megadeth bassist David Ellefson is the film's narrator.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, The Black Keys and Jack White have signed on as the headliners for the 2012 Austin City Limits Festival, October 12th through the 14th in Austin, Texas.
