Bitterroot National Forest Re-opens Willow Creek Roads
The unusually heavy June rainstorm damage on Willow Creek Roads of the Bitterroot National Forest has been repaired and the routes have been re-opened.
Joe Butsick of BNF said in a news release that the road shoulders are still soft and more time is needed before the soils settle and stabilize the area. So, motorists are cautioned to stay on the road and report any further damage they might encounter on Forest Service roads #364 and #969 east of Corvallis.
Butsick said 64 dump truck loads of mud, rocks and debris were removed. Crews also installed drain pipes and planted vegetation to help stabilize the area to reduce sediment reaching Willow Creek.
