Brennan’s Wave Repair to Be Conducted in Two Phases [AUDIO]
Starting next week, work to repair the popular kayak recreation feature Brennan's Wave will begin.
Missoula Parks and Recreation manager Allan White said the repairs will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will consist of removing some debris revealed by recent high water in the Clark Fork river, and will take one to two days.
The second phase, White said, will take more time, as it will require diverting the river through the use of coffer dams, so that repair work can be done safely.
White said the goal is to return the feature to its original condition. Brennan's Wave was built and named in memory of Brennan Guth, a Missoula native and world-class kayaker who died while kayaking in Chile in 2001.
