Black Sabbath Burger + Goat Cheese Shake: Montana’s Rock and Roll Feast
If you’ve visited Billings and not gone to Burger Dive, you did Billings wrong. This is not just another greasy spoon. Owner Brad Halsten is pretty much burger royalty. He won the World Food Championships’ Burger Champion title in 2016, a global competition drawing burger luminaries from across the world. He’s also been on Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel.
Ordering a Burger in Ozzy’s honor
I was thinking about Ozzy Osbourne’s death last week when I noticed the Black Sabbath burger on the menu. It’s essentially their black and blue burger, juicy patty, tangy blue cheese, lots of attitude. Sinking my teeth into it while gazing at a Sabbath poster on the wall landed differently than it used to. It felt like the right way to toast the Prince of Darkness.
Milkshakes that shouldn’t work (and do)
Then there are the milkshakes at Burger Dive. They have Twinkie shakes, Ding Dong shakes, and one called Essence of Goat. Don’t freak out. It’s huckleberry with flecks of goat cheese in it. Sweet, tart, and creamy with an occasional salty blast that works way better than logic says it should. Plus, the name alone made me think, "That is so weird, I have got to try it."
Big news for Burger Dive fans
They’re expanding into the old West Park Plaza, so even if downtown feels too busy, you’ve got another reason to stop. Get the Black Sabbath burger, wash it down with the goat shake, and toast to Ozzy.
