Update: TMZ reports that Nickelback have shut down the Kensington Police Service's threat to drunk drivers to blast the band's music in their cruiser as they drive you to jail. The band's reps apparently contacted the police department and asked them to remove the Facebook post that went viral this week. See the original story below

So this is how you remind me ... not to drive drunk! According to CNN, police in the Canadian town of Kensington have found another deterrent to keep drivers in their vicinity from driving under the influence -- Nickelback's music.

The Kensington Police Service are encouraging drivers to keep their "sober side up" by letting them know that not only will they charge you for drunk driving, they'll also blast Nickelback as they drive you off to jail.

"When we catch you, and we will catch you, on top of a hefty fine, a criminal charge and a years driving suspension we will also provide you with a bonus gift of playing the office's copy of Nickelback in the cruiser on the way to jail," stated a Facebook post on the matter, seen below:

The officer went on to reveal that the department doesn't actually hate the band, but decided to use the polarizing rock act's music as a "different approach to get an age-old message communicated." He added, "As long as it starts the 'Don't drink and drive' dialogue, we're happy with that."

"Let's not ruin a perfectly good unopened copy of Nickelback. You don't drink and drive and we won't make you listen to it," states the social media post.

In a statement to CNN, Constable Robb Hartlen said the department doesn't hate the band, adding, "We are just using a different approach to get an age-old message communicated. As long as it starts the 'Don't drink and drive' dialogue, we're happy with that."

So the next time you're "feelin' way too damn good" after yelling "bottom's up," just know that the Kensington Police Service may eventually make you swear, "Never Again."
