Corey Taylor, Dave Navarro, Courtney Love + More to Rock ‘Above Ground’ Mental Health Benefit
Some of rock and metal biggest names are coming together for mental health awareness. Corey Taylor, Dave Navarro and Courtney Love are just a few performers who will perform the Velvet Underground’s The Velvet Underground & Nico and Adam and the Ants’ Kings of the Wild Frontier albums in full at a special one-off concert at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles on April 16.
One can imagine the positions these artists will be filling at the ‘Above Ground’ concert. Having vocalists like Corey Taylor, Billy Idol, Courtney Love and Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes and guitarists like Dave Navarro and Billy Idol axeman Billy Morrison makes for a fascinating concoction to tackle two of rock’s most noteworthy albums.
"After losing too many friends to suicide and depression, and having suffered personally with a wide range of mental health issues, we want to raise awareness and funds for the treatment of mental health," Morrison says. “Spread the word that it's okay to ask for help."
The ‘Above Ground’ show will be held at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theatre on April 16. Pre-sale tickets will become available Feb. 22 at 10AM PT and tickets will go on sale to the public Feb. 24 at 10AM PT. Click here to grab passes to the show.
