A Billings man is the latest person to think they are buying a Montana fishing license online - but instead get charged and are just given information.

I saw this story today and it made me think about my wife trying to get a new driver's license.  She tried to update her license after our last change of address and she ended up with the same $22 charge and no license - just information from the website owner.

Technically, they tell you they aren't associated with any government agency.  But the verbiage and description can be confusing to some.

This website has had over 20 complaints to the Better Business Bureau in the last three years.

So don't attempt to actually purchase a Montana fishing license from fishinglicense.org.
