Barack Obama will address the United States one last time as its president when he delivers his farewell address tonight at McCormick Place in his hometown of Chicago. Joining him will be the Chicago Children's Choir and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam.

The band made the announcement on Twitter, writing, "Eddie Vedder, joined by members of the @VoiceOfChicago, will perform at @POTUS's Farewell Address tonight."

Tickets for the event were distributed on Saturday morning, with the Chicagoist reporting that thousands of people had begun lining up as early as 4:30AM, even with temperatures in the single digits, in the hopes of attending. Yesterday, the same site discovered that people were selling their tickets for as much as $5,000, and that others are willing to trade their tickets to see the local production of Hamilton for the farewell address. By contrast, tickets to see the Chicago Cubs in their first World Series since 1946 -- in which Vedder also found a way to participate -- averaged a little over $3,000.

According to its website, the Chicago Children's Choir was formed on the South Side in 1956 and regularly perform with major cultural institutions in Chicago, have appeared on Today and Oprah and have toured the world. They have programs in 80 schools and 10 neighborhoods that provide vocal training to approximately 4,400 youth between the ages of 8-18.

Although identified with Seattle, Vedder was born in Evanston, Ill., just north of Chicago, with his family moving to San Diego in the mid-'70s.
