A MEANS alert has been issued for Missoula County, which is a Missoula Emergency Action Notification System alert.

The alert went into effect as of 9:30 a.m. today, December 29th, and calls for emergency travel only due to hazardous roads and possible flash freezing. According to the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, the alert will be lifted at 2 p.m. today. Visibility is expected to be difficult between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and a winter storm warning remains in effect until Saturday, December 30th at 5 p.m.

Expect snow accumulations of 7 to 12 inches, wind gusts and a ton of shoveling. Be safe friends.
