ESPN Gameday – UM Athletic Director Says “Things Are In Motion”
The suspense is killing us. Will one of college football's oldest rivalries be featured on ESPN GameDay? We are looking ahead to November 20th, when the Montana Grizzlies and the Montana State Bobcats meet for the 120th "Brawl of the Wild." Will ESPN recognize this FCS rivalry worthy of bringing the BIG SHOW to Missoula?
Many UM Alumni and celebrities are campaigning to get ESPN to pack up their trucks and bring GameDay to Washington/Grizzly stadium. You may remember when Oscar award-winning actor and UM Alum, JK Simmons released a short video requesting ESPN come to Missoula.
Even Pearl Jam bassist, Jeff Ament is campaigning for ESPN to come to town.
Now, NFL greats are joining the campaign to bring GameDay to Missoula. Former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia recently posted his thoughts on a possible Griz/Cat appearance in ESPN.
Still. no matter how many big names and faces show their support for #Grizon GameDay, there is still a chance ESPN will choose a BCS game. November 20th is also the day that #8 Michigan State will meet with #6 Ohio State. This game currently seems to be the frontrunner for choice games for ESPN GameDay.
But, according to University of Montana Athletic Director, Kent Haslam "Things are in motion." In a recent Tweet from the Montana Kaimin, UM AD Kent Haslam is ready for ESPN, if they do make the choice to join in on the "Brawl of the Wild."
