Five Finger Death Punch’s Jason Hook Undergoes Gallbladder Surgery
Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook has checked in from the hospital after undergoing gallbladder surgery, which has now caused the band to postpone the final three dates of their U.S. tour.
The first postponement came when the band had to nix their Dec. 12 show in Duluth, Minn. as Hook was reported to have suffered a "medical emergency." In an Instagram post, the guitarist offered clarity on the situation and reassured fans that Five Finger will indeed be making up the shows they missed, which now includes the originally scheduled stops on Dec. 14 and 15 in Nebraska and Iowa respectively.
Sitting in a hospital bed with headphones on, a bandaged Hook wrote, "Well that sucked! Gallbladder went #kaput ... sorry Duluth MN, some things you just can’t control... We’ll be back to kick some ass, and make up the other dates as soon as we can! I very much appreciate all the kind notes of caring and support. One thing I know for sure is we have the greatest fan base of all time! Long live the #knuckleheads."
With touring wrapped up for the year, Five Finger Death Punch will have minimal downtime. They're scheduled to head to Europe in January on a headlining tour featuring Megadeth and Bad Wolves followed by a U.S. leg in April with Papa Roach, I Prevail and Ice Nine Kills all on the bill.
Look for the band's new record, F8, to be released on Feb. 28 and hear "Inside Out," the first album single, here.
