Now that we know a new album is en route, Foo Fighters are ramping up their promotional activities and that includes one very special show this summer that is being filmed for the PBS docu-series Landmarks Live in Concert. The band will play July 10 at the iconic Acropolis in Athens, Greece.

“I’ve always wanted to work with the Foo Fighters and do a show in Greece,” says the series' creator/director/exec producer Daniel E. Catullo. “Having both wishes come true in the same episode is a huge moment for me. When I first came up with the idea for the series, this is exactly what I had in mind -- a legendary band playing a legendary venue. We’ve had some incredible shows so far, but this one officially sets our standard at a new level."

For those not familiar, the Landmarks Live in Concert series was created by Catullo and is hosted by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, who conducts the interviews with the bands as they explore some of their favorite locations around each landmark, giving viewers a bit of a travelogue as well. Tickets for the Acropolis show are available at this location and net proceeds from each ticket sold will be donated to a local Greek charity.

Meanwhile, in other Foo Fighters news, the band welcomed Alison Mosshart from the Kills onstage during their Open'er festival appearance in Poland. Mosshart has played with the band a few times over the past month, but during the Open'er show, Dave Grohl confirmed that she'll be part of the upcoming Concrete and Gold album that's due Sept. 15.

Mosshart duetted with Grohl on "La Dee Da," a track that's been turning up in sets as a pre-cursor to the upcoming album release. Watch footage of the performance below.
