It's hard to believe, but we're actually, really, going to get to see the Missoula Paddleheads play some baseball this year. It's been almost 2 years since they made the name change official, but thanks to the pandemic, they still haven't been able to play a single game under the new moniker.

That all changes in just a couple of months, and the Paddleheads have been gearing up for the start of a new baseball season. We heard about the new manager they hired for the team recently, and they're set to finally unveil their new mascot in April. And now, the Paddleheads have announced that a player who used to play for the Osprey is coming back to Missoula.

Zac Almond, who played 56 games for Missoula in 2018 as a catcher and designated hitter, will be returning to the team after the Paddleheads struck a deal with the Fargo-Moorehead RedHawks to bring him back in. This is actually the first trade ever made in Pioneer League historu.

Almond has gained acclaim over the years as a ballplayer to watch - the Arizona Diamondbacks named him their Minor League Player Of The Month, and he was a Pioneer League Post-Season All-Star.

It really seems like things are turning around for the Paddleheads this season, and as much as I loved getting to use Ogren Park last summer for movie nights and trivia, it'll be great to finally see some baseball played there again.
