Frenchtown Fugitive Captured on Island in the Clark Fork River
Jordan Christensen, the third and final felony theft suspect wanted for allegedly attempting to steal a trailer in Frenchtown, was apprehended on Thursday afternoon.
Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jeanette Smith provided these details of the capture.
“The third and final felony theft suspect, Jordan Randall Christensen, was reported to be seen by a private resident,” said Smith. “When Missoula County Sheriff's deputies located the individual he was on an island in the Clark Fork River. He was taken into custody without incident. The report came in at approximately 3:30 this afternoon.”
“We listed as we started this incident last night as a felony theft,” she said. “As you know the report came in that the three suspects were trying to take a trailer yesterday afternoon around two o'clock.”
Christensen was taken into custody without incident. Though he was found on an island in the Clark Fork River, it is not known if he required medical attention due to the cold weather conditions.
It is not known if Christensen was armed at the time of his capture.
Smith said the Sheriff’s Office extended it’s thanks to members of the public for providing important information in Christensen’s capture, in addition to the Missoula Police Department, the Montana Highway Patrol, Frenchtown Rural Fire and Two Bear Air out of Whitefish.
