According to Montana Highway Patrol, a Frenchtown man died Monday night after losing control of the motorcycle he was driving near Evaro. MHP Sergeant Shawn Smalley says the 56-year-old man was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on U.S. Highway 93 North.

“The motorcycle crashed after going off the right side of the road for unknown reasons,” Smalley said. “The road curved to the left. The rider was not wearing a helmet and was not wearing protective gear when he crashed.”

The roads were dry at the time of the accident. MHP says the man died at the scene and that speed, drugs and alcohol are not factors in this crash. The victim's name hasn’t been released.
