‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Says the Villainous Ramsay Bolton Is Based on Liam Gallagher
If the treacherous Ramsay Bolton on HBO's Game of Thrones has always seemed just a little familiar, actor Iwan Rheon has revealed a possible reason: Rheon modeled the character in part after former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
The Welsh actor opened up about the influence for Bolton in a recent interview with NME. "[Ramsay is] somewhere between the Joker from The Dark Knight and Dennis the Menace, with a little bit of Liam Gallagher in there,” he said. It's not exactly a luminous reflection on the notoriously hot-headed Gallagher considering Ramsay is one of the cruelest and most despicable characters on a show rife with cruel and despicable characters.
When we last left Ramsay in the Season 5 finale last June, his new bride Sansa Stark had literally chosen to throw herself from a tower to get away from him. We'll likely find out what happens next when the first episode of Season 6 premieres April 24. Check out a teaser below.
Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed "last rock star" said he is "suffering" as he waits for his brother, guitarist-songwriter Noel Gallagher, to reunite Oasis. Unfortunately for him (and the rest of us), the equally outspoken elder Gallagher has said Oasis won't be getting back together in the next five years.
