There are some places you don’t expect to see something associated with George Clooney sitting next to your usual case of six packs. Now Crazy Mountain, a new non alcoholic beer, is making the rounds in Montana. And, Mr. Clooney is one of the guys behind it. And not just a celebrity slap-their-name-on-it situation either. He has a group of serious businesspeople involved who actually know what they are doing. In fact, he is part of the ownership group here. And now Clooney's beer has found a home right in our own backyard.

The Name Feels… Familiar

Let’s address the obvious. “Crazy Mountain.” If you live in Montana, your brain immediately goes to the Crazy Mountains. Nothing official says the beer actually came from Montana. But come on. The name, the branding, western-style, and even the cowboy on horseback in the ads all feel like they are pulling from the Montana identity. But, after doing a little research, I found that the beer is brewed at Crazy Mountain Brewery in Colorado.

Non Alcoholic Beer Is No Longer A Joke

There was a time when ordering a non alcoholic beer felt like waving the white flag. That is not the case anymore. That category is exploding. Better taste, better branding, and more people want to take it easy without going full soda. It is not random that Clooney is jumping into this space; it is intentional. And he is not the only one. Charlie Sheen has been tied to his own non alcoholic beer and even collaborated with Montana’s own Tim Montana. This lane is getting crowded with big names, which usually means it is here for the long haul.

So… Is It Worth Trying?

That is what it really comes down to. If Crazy Mountain Beer is sitting in your local Town Pump, it might be worth grabbing one just to see what Clooney thinks beer should taste like without the buzz. Best case, you find something you actually like. Worst case, you tried a celebrity beer, and now you have something to talk about at deer camp. Either way, it is pretty wild seeing a Hollywood name like Clooney sitting in a Montana beer cooler.
