Grammy Nominated Rockers Return to Rock Missoula!
I just recently spent some time in downtown Seattle. It seemed to me that every bar or cocktail lounge had someone playing music. Whether it was someone strumming a guitar or a 3 piece band on a stage made of milk crates. Seattle is saturated with music.
Missoula has gotten to a certain level of music saturation as well. Over the years, the amount of options for live music has been abundant. So much so, that sometimes a touring act will be overlooked as just another option for music. That is what happened when Highly Suspect stopped in Missoula back in 2015.
I remember it like it was yesterday. There was not much promotion around the show. The band had recently released their first album, and the hit single from the album had barely gotten any airplay. Not many people were familiar with the act, so the turnout was not that great.
I just so happened to have the night off and needed a live music fix. I enjoyed every minute of the show, which was located below the Golden Rose in downtown Missoula. I was taken aback by how poor the turnout was because nobody recognized the band.
It was only a few days later that the 2015 Grammy Nominations were released. I heard a familiar name announced. "Highly Suspect" was nominated for "Best Rock Album" at the Grammys just days after playing in front of 30 fans in Missoula, MT.
NOW THEY HAVE RETURNED!
Highly Suspect has announced that they will be back (and at a slightly larger venue this time.)
