In all the years of the Big Sky Conference, no Montana Grizzly football player has ever earned Player of the Week honors three weeks in a row. Until now.

After a career-high day where he led Montana to a comeback and resounding defeat of Idaho State in Montana's 100th Homecoming game, senior quarterback Dalton Sneed has been named the ROOT Sports Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive time. And to really make things sweet, he has also been named STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week.

After spotting the Bengals a 17-0 lead 30 seconds into the second quarter, Dalton and the Griz really went to work. He finished the day with 397 passing yards and 67 more yards on the ground, threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores, including an airborne, leaping whirligig thing (make up your own description here), as the Griz went on to trounce Idaho State 59-20.

In his last three games, Sneed has thrown for a total of 999 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushed for an additional 169 yards and two more scores. Our thanks to Eric Taber in UM Sports Information for all the numbers.

Congratulations to Dalton and the entire Griz team for their sensational effort. Enjoy your bye week and get after those Sacramento State Hornets on October 19!
