Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale + More Cover Dave Grohl Favorites at Nashville Tribute Show
Simply put, musicians like to play! And even when they're not on the road, you'll sometimes find rockers honing their chops playing special shows, kind of like the one that happened in Nashville Thursday night (April 27). A number of name musicians came together for a tribute show honoring the music of Dave Grohl.
The concert, titled "Rock N' Grohl: A Tribute to Dave Grohl," took place at the Basement East and attracted members of Halestorm, Suicidal Tendencies, Slipknot and more to perform some familiar rock favorites.
Decked out in black leather and sporting a shorter cropped haircut, Lzzy Hale led a band consisting of Halestorm's Joe Hottinger, Suicidal Tendencies' Josh Paul and Nico Santora and Slipknot's Jay Weinberg along with Brandon Bruce through a raucous rendition of "The Pretender" from Foo Fighters. The video footage above comes from King Thrust Entertainment.
You can also see two other stellar performances from the show below. The aforementioned Nico Santora leads the band on covers of Foo Fighters' "White Limo" and Queens of the Stone Age's "No One Knows," a track that Grohl has played drums on. Santora's "White Limo" backing included Weinberg, Hottinger and Paul. Meanwhile, "No One Knows" features Santora and Weinberg with Dark Hound's ET Brown.
