Hamilton Church Will Provide Free Holiday Dinner Packs
Friday, the Mosaic Church will be providing free Christmas meal packages from its location on Hamilton's Main Street. This is the third year that the church has helped those in need, according to one of the organizers Greg Reinhardt. The Corvallis Merc also teamed up to help get the food out to the community.
He told KLYQ News that the meals will include the ingredients to prepare a nice dinner with ham, potatoes, vegetable, a gravy mix and a dessert. The bags will be available starting at 11 a.m. Friday, December 18, until they run out, which only took a couple of hours last year. However, due to COVID-19, they had to limit the number of volunteers to about half of what they had last year, so there may be short delays in the distribution. He advised patience if that happens.
Also, because of the COVID-19 threat, if people want to stay outside instead of going into the church, there will be a greeter who can hand out the bags right there on the sidewalk. Greg said the volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves and personal protective gear because of the COVID restrictions to keep everyone safe.
There is no registration required. Simply come to the church and receive a big. Reinhardt said, "It our opportunity to bless the people in the community." He also thanked Jimmy Ross and the Corvallis Merc for their help. The church has been located on the 200 block of Main Street in Hamilton for 4 years now. The meal packs will be available Friday, December 18, starting at 11 a.m.
