The Hamilton and Stevensville teams played lots of basketball Tuesday, January 8, at the Hamilton High School and Hamilton Middle School. Both boys and girls teams - freshman, junior varsity and varsity - played six games, topped off with the two varsity battles at Hamilton High's Dale Berry Court.

In those final games of the day, Hamilton Broncs defeated the Yellowjackets 63 to 53. The Yellowjackets and Broncs were even in the first quarter, but then Hamilton pulled away - at half they led 37 to 25, at the third, 49 to 40 and the final was a 10-point margin for the Broncs 63 to 53. The nightcap was between the Lady Yellowjackets and Lady Broncs. Hamilton led most of the game - scoring 15 to 8 in the first quarter, ahead by 9 at the half - 29 to 20. After three, Hamilton led 37 to 28, but the final quarter saw their lead dwindle until Stevi was only 2 points down. But Hamilton finally pulled away with the final score Hamilton 50 Stevensville 45.

Saturday, the Broncs and Lady Broncs will travel to Dillon for an afternoon double-header, starting at 4 p.m. KLYQ will have the live play-by-play on your cell phone with our free app and online at www.klyq.com and, of course, on the radio at 1240 AM on the dial.
