Hamilton Loses to Browning in Wild Late Night Game
In a game that started over an hour late and then went into overtime about 10:30 p.m., Browning edged by the Hamilton Lady Broncs 66 to 61 in overtime at the Western A Basketball Tournament in Butte Thursday, February 22.
By quarters, Hamilton carved out a sizeable lead for most of the game, but Browning fought back. At the end of the first period, it was Hamilton by one - 11 to 10. But by the half, the Lady Broncs had increased the lead with the score, Hamilton 30 Browning 18. And at the end of the third quarter it was Hamilton 42 Browning 36. But the fourth quarter saw the lead pass back and forth, with the teams tied, and they went into overtime. Slowly, Browning built up a five-point lead and won the game 66 to 61 shortly before 11 p.m.
That puts the Hamilton Lady Broncs into a loser-out game Friday against Libby at 2 p.m., followed by Hamilton Broncs in semi-final action against Dillon at 3:30. Both games will be on KLYQ and KLYQ.com.
