The Hamilton School District will be shut down for more than the statewide closure of two weeks. The end of the closure period, March 27, coincides with the beginning of the scheduled Spring break week at Hamilton, meaning the students will not return to classrooms until at least April 6. All school-sponsored activities are cancelled, including trips. All other valley public schools are closed from now to March 27, including Corvallis, Victor, Darby, Stevensville, Lone Rock and Florence-Carlton.

Hamilton Superintendent Tom Korst said the staff and teachers will be meeting Monday and Tuesday this week to plan online teaching such as Google Classroom during the shutodown. Other details, such as school lunch availability, will be determined this week. Korst said that, so far, no students have been tested for COVID-19 and no students have tested positive for the coronavirus. The Hamilton School board met in emergency session Sunday evening and video of that meeting is on the district's Facebook page. Further details will be posted there as they develop.
