The annual summer festival, Daly Days, has been canceled by the Hamilton Downtown Association. The two-day event with sidewalk sales, a night street dance and the always popular wiener dog races was dropped from the schedule by the board of the Association. In a news release, organizers said the tenuous COVID-19 situation, along with probable inability of maintaining social distancing (see photo above), led to the decision. HDA officials hoped to have some smaller events this summer, in the style of past "Crazy Days" downtown street sales. The HDA had earlier canceled their Crab Fest and Wine Fest fundraisers, also due to the coronavirus pandemic. The organization is composed mainly of business owners and managers in the Hamilton area.

Recently, Stevensville canceled its annual Creamery Picnic. The list of canceled summer events in western Montana continues to grow.
