When a volunteer for Soroptimists International of Hamilton opened their Easter candy sales trailer Monday morning, it was warm inside - too warm.

She was greeted by a line of droopy chocolate bunnies and other melted candies.

Over 100 pieces of chocolate, about half of their remaining Easter candy supply, were in different stages of melting. A malfunctioning space heater was the cause of the damage.

As a result, there is a fairly large "50 percent off" sales rack in the trailer at the First Security Bank parking lot. The Sees brand candy sales help fund various funds for valley women. The red trailer along US 93 is a traditional feature before various holidays in Hamilton.

Organizers said this the first for such a melting accident in their many years of candy sales. The trailer will be open daily through the week.
