Ahhh, the Holidays, full of snow, cheer, and those awkward family gatherings.  If you need a little extra "Christmas spirit" but want to do something a little fancier than Baileys in your coffee, here are some ideas to warm you up while carrying you though this holiday season.

Little short on cash? Get free booze!

Tom and Jerry

  • 6 eggs (split the yolks from the whites)
  • 2 1/4 sugar
  • salt (just a couple shakes)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • Boiling water
  • Rum

Prep:

Beat your yolks- nothing fancy just make sure they are all broken up well

Beat the whites- your arms will thank you if you just use an electric mixer and continue the whoopin of the juevos till you can form peaks.

You are now done with your mixer and hand stirring the rest. Gently fold in about 1/2 cup sugar, add your yolks and keep folding. When evenly mixed, add 1 3/4 cups sugar, salt, vanilla and powdered milk.

Make sure you store your batter in the fridge and use within 5 days (raw eggs are not a good idea past 6 or 7 days). To mix your drink, pour a shot or two of rum (or whiskey) in a coffee mug and add 3 tablespoons of your batter. Fill the mug the rest of the way with hot water, mix, and enjoy!

Hot Buttered Rum

  • 3⁄4 lb. softened butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1⁄4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1⁄4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄4 tsp. ground cloves
  • Salt
  • rum

Prep:

mix up your butter and sugar, when well combined, add the rest of the ingredients and keep on mixing (electric mixer on this one unless you want to get a work out).

To make your drink, put 2 or 3 tablespoons of the buttered rum batter and 1 or 2 shots of rum into an coffee mug and fill with hot water. Stir it up and sip away! (no eggs in this mix but store it in the fridge anyway, it will last for a couple weeks)

Easy Spiced Wine A.K.A "Glögg"

  • 3 cups red wine
  • 1 1/2 cups vodka
  • 6 pods green cardamom
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1–2 sticks cinnamon

Prep:

Throw all your stuff in a small pot and warm (do not boil this or you will loose your alcohol content!!!!).
