Montana Winter Fun Could ‘Lead to Prostitution’ Says Lawmakers

Winter fun is underway here in Montana. Warmer weather may have you rethinking some plans, but we are far from done with winter. There is still plenty of outdoor fun to be had. One of the more popular winter activities in Montana is ice fishing. Yup, people walk out onto frozen lakes and ponds and drill holes in the ice. Whether they catch anything or not, it is still a great way to remedy cabin fever.

Now, for anyone who has never been ice fishing, just the name makes it sound like not much fun. "You mean to tell me that I have to sit on a block of ice all day and try to catch fish?"  The name makes it sound miserable, but it can be quite comfortable. In an attempt to shield themselves from the elements, ice anglers will sometimes pack ice shelters out on the ice, and with the aid of a small heater, your "ice shanty" can soon be a tropical paradise. People who were once bundled up in winter clothes quickly start stripping layers of clothing, which may be another problem all by itself.

Just a few years ago, the Mayor of Hudson, Ohio had some concerns about ice fishing. A small lake in Hudson is off-limits to fishing. But, during a city council meeting, a council member brought up the fact that several residents have requested that the fishing ban be lifted for ice anglers. Mayor Shubert wasn't sure it would be a good idea. If he allows ice fishermen on the lake, they will want to set up ice shanties. Those ice shanties could quickly lead to increased prostitution.....WATCH.

There is no way that Montana would ever consider banning ice fishing. Unless it leads to an increased divorce rate and frostbite injuries to prostitutes wearing little clothing on the shores of Montana waters.
