That's all she wrote... for now! Iron Maiden have been traversing the globe since February, jetting around on their custom Ed Force One plane in support of 2015's The Book of Souls. Playing to over 1.5 million fans, completing 72 shows in 36 countries, Eddie and the boys have issued a thank you video to their fans following the final show of the tour at Wacken Open Air in Germany.

Drummer Nicko McBrain, who enjoyed his 64th birthday in June, commented before the Wacken performance that this was "the best tour yet," thanking the fans for "one of the most exciting and one of the most memorable tours" the stickman has "ever done with Iron Maiden." He also indicated there's more touring to come, adding, "See you next year!"

Clips from the band's exhilarating show are spliced in between interview segments, highlighting what has made them such a dominant act over 35 years into their career. In the video, flames leap up from the stage, Bruce Dickinson stalks the boards and interacts with the menacing Mayan Eddie, who makes his return as a giant head during "Iron Maiden." With such high-energy shows, bassist and founder Steve Harris noted, "It's been a brilliant tour, the fans have been absolutely brilliant everywhere, but I've got to say we are all, honest, looking forward to a nice rest. So, we'll see you on the next one."

The Book of Souls landed inside the Top 10 on charts in dozens of countries upon its release, including No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The album's release was delayed while Dickinson recovered from two cancerous tumors on his tongue, though he rebounded in a most impressive manner, returning to his regular top form on the extensive world tour.
