Big Sky Conference City Power Rankings 2026
Last year, I power-ranked the ten Big Sky Conference cities based on my favorite places to visit while traveling with the Lady Griz or football.
I am notorious for having a bad memory, so I wanted to run it back today on the Daily Drive with Ace Sauerwein on KGRZ. The rankings are completely based on vibes with no analytics. Did the rankings line up the same as last year?
Let's find out.
Big Sky Conference City Power Rankings 2026
10. Cheney, Washington (Last Year: 10)
Cheney takes the cellar spot in the power rankings of the Big Sky. We stay in Spokane when we travel to Eastern Washington. That tells you everything. Sorry, Cheney.
9. Pocatello, Idaho (Last Year: 9)
Pocatello doesn't have a lot going on, but it's at least a little bigger than Cheney. A little more hilly, too.
8. Moscow, Idaho (Last Year: 7)
Moscow and the next city are the only cities to move in rankings from last year. I don't mind Moscow, but I'll pick the rest of the conference ahead of it.
7. Greeley, Colorado (Last Year: 8)
I'm going to throw a hot take out there: I like Greeley. Yes, it literally smells with all the agricultural business in and around the town, but I like Greeley. There's great Mexican food, and I've had fun going every year. Granted, it does help that I have a friend who lives there.
6. Sacramento, California (Last Year: 6)
I'm a fan of visiting the bigger cities in the conference, but as far as bigger cities go, Sac doesn't do a lot for me. Still, there are some fun bars and good restaurants downtown. I may have Sac higher up if I'd lucked out and traveled to Sac when the Kings are playing.
5. Ogden, Utah (Last Year: 5)
Ogden is beautiful. It's up there with the top of the list in beauty, but I like to sample the local beer and Ogden lacks big time in local beer.
4. Portland, Oregon (Last Year: 4)
Every time I visit Portland, I have a great time. It's got a ton of great food. It has the Trail Blazers. It has the Portland Timbers. It's a blast.
3. Flagstaff, Arizona (Last Year: 3)
Hey! That's where I am right now! Flagstaff is beautiful and would be number one on the list if not for the state of Montana.
2. Bozeman, Montana (Last Year: 2)
I know you want to call it an "all hat no cattle mountain town," which could be seen as fair, but I love visiting Bozeman. It's got a fun downtown set in the beautiful mountains, and it's got a passionate fanbase.
1. Missoula, Montana (Last Year: 1)
Come on, what else was I going to select? Missoula is my home, but it's the best of them all in the Big Sky Conference.
