Open Letter to College Gameday: What a Swing and a Miss!
In case you missed the news, College GameDay passed on the Brawl of the Wild in Missoula again. ESPN's college football pregame show will be headed back to Eugene, Oregon, for the second time this year.
With my maroon-colored shades on, I have to say I'm not shocked GameDay bypassed Missoula again. They haven't been to a non-power 4 school since November 17, 2023, when they visited Harrisonburg, Virginia, for James Madison vs Appalachian State, and that was the last time Gameday passed on Missoula, too.
It's disappointing for sure. We'd love to have the focal point of the college football world in Zootown, but again, I'm not surprised. What I will say is GameDay's decision to go back to Eugene is a swing and a miss. Comparing Oregon and USC's "rivalry" to the Brawl of the Wild is like comparing apples to apples that actually hate each other.
Like, these apples are hoping the opposing apples get carved up for an apple pie.
Gameday had a picturesque setting at the campus of the University of Montana with an epic rivalry in a new location... and they blew it. They went back to Oregon, where they were on October 11.

By the way, the Oregon-USC game is on CBS. It's not even on the ESPN family of networks. It's a massive swing and a miss because you could have gone to Missoula, where old-school college football still reigns.
I'm not the only one confused about the decision.
